Installation for the
Cumulus Momentum #1 exhibition on the windows of the “Jardin d'Hiver” (Winter Garden) of La Cité radieuse — architect Le Corbusier — in Marseille, France.
The “Jardin d'Hiver”, that goes from a poppy seed-red wall to a leaf-green wall, measures 42 m wide × 5,20 m high (138 ft × 17 ft high). The windows are 69 cm wide × 103 to 140 cm high (27 in wide × 40.5 in to 55 in high).
In La Cité radieuse, every apartment has views both over the mountain and the sea and benefits from amazing changes of light. I then invited their inhabitants to write about their favourite sky offering them to interpret their texts on the windows of the “Jardin d'Hiver”. I created a series of colored compositions with theatre filters and Vicky Colombet's paintings on acetate that reflect on the Jardin d'Hiver's walls and floor.
