I-do-not-Know-What + Almost-Nothing
I-do-not-Know-What, 2008.
Gauze, paper pulp, pigments.

Installation at the Ixelles Museum, exhibition Brussels, Territory of Convergences, November 2008-February 2009, and at the Keitelman Gallery, exhibition Flower Power, November 2010-February 2011.

Almost-Nothing, 2008.
Gauze.

Installation facing I-do-not-Know-What at the Ixelles Museum.

The titles are borrowed from the French philosopher Vladimir Jankelevitch's books Je-ne-sais-quoi (I-Do-Not-Know-What) and Presque-rien (Almost-Nothing) that explore notions of instant and decision, and of “what is just happening” or “about to happen”. As the petals are suspended 6 cm (2 in) from the wall, the shadow accentuates the impression that they are just about to fall or to move imperceptibly.
